I am not joking. I operate from a cyber cafe.the administrator has adjusted the settings in such a way that i cant download divx player.i.e. after downloading the wizard, my computer cant read the files.the windows media player plays only .mpeg files. i have downloaded divx codecs on my comp but still windows media player wont play avi or rm or qt files.in which folder should i download the codecs so that the player can play all movie files?

Well you only asked where to find the DIVX codec in the original topic.

Sounds like there are permissions/restrictions setup on the computer in cafe. Make sense to me since don't want people mucking around/installing unnecessary programs.

Normally you run the installer, which registers the codec, making registry entries and copies the files to SYSTEM32 folder.
BTW, qt or rm files require quicktime/alternative real player/alternative respectively. wink.gif
