After I installed Mega Codec Pack (currently 1.33), the Crossfade function in Windows Media Player (v10.00.00.3802) stopped working...
I googled this and the closest thing that I can come up with is something to do with 'l3codeca.acm'.
But no matter what I do with it, (unregister and re-register) the crossfade still failed...
The only remedy that I have is remove Mega Codec Pack. As soon as I removed it, WMP will crossfade songs without any problem.
I like the Codec that you've put together, I really don't want to lose it...that's why I am posting this message.
Any tweak that anybody can suggest that will allow crossfade in WMP work with Mega Codec Pack?
Thanks...

On some pcs it works fine, but sometimes problems appear like yours, or some players wont work anymore, videoplay is cranky and so on.
This pack is so big and packed with things you need and a lot of things you dont need, that its not easy to match with other components on your computer.
I dont know how to find out whats the solution for you.
A good choice would be to read the pinned topic "Guide to using codecs", deinstall the Ace pack and install only the codecs you really need.

Well, isn't the point of this pack so that we can install it and not having to worry about what's going on when we try to play some audio/video?
I see your ponit, but if I have to install the minimum and then start from there, then what's the point of this pack?

There are misfunctions , thats why there is the pinned topic "Guide to using codecs".
And there are pcs who work with it. But every system is different and there are a lot of componenets in this pack to match.
If you install a single codec and it wont work, you know its the last installed one.
To find out which of the components in the Ace Packs is not working takes ??? time.
Disableing componenets of the Ace Pack one after the other, trying if it works everytime, could MAYBE be the solution. I would not recommend that.
If you want a good pack, there are others, like K-Lite, Nimo, Cole or XP.
I chose Ace, too, but had to deinstall it.
Sorry, thats all I can do.
