I can´t forward a video!!

Hello people!!! I downloaded some videos that I can´t forward them...I have to watch them from begining to end, not parts of them...I´m using WMP and a have XP Codec Pack 1.0.4...How can I solve this problem!?!?!? Please help me!!!!

Most AVI/MPEG files don't have chapters so can't skip ahead.
Can't you just use the seek bar at the bottom in WMP9/10?

I preview most formats including avi's and VIB;s wwith the VLC Media Player.

Thanks!!! The VLC Media Players works!!! Now I can forward the video!!! But I have some imperfections in the sound!!! Can I use any plag in to solve this problem?
