no audio on some movie files [solved]

please help as i aint got a clue when it comes to pc stuff. i am tryin to watch a movie file but even though the picture quality is top class,there is no audio.i play my files through real player and when i try and play the file,it says some portions of the file cannot be played and would you like to see if there is an update for this file.when i click yes it says it does not recognise the codec and when i click on no it plays the file but with blink.gif no volume.please help

Open the file with "G-Spot".

It shows you what file it is and if the codec is installed.

You can download the missing codec here.

Did you install both players: RealPlayer and Real Alternative?

i downloaded g spot and thanks to that it suggested download ac 3,which i did and bingo!!!! thanks to all biggrin.gif
