"4CC HCW 2/" i need this codec to play an AVI files i just captured. is there any other way around this. it says i need this codec. any ideas? would be very thankful.

What is this device you captured videos with?
Driver/software ususally comes with it...

Ah thats the thing, It didn't come with any disks at all, it's an HP media centre pc, so all the backup disks are as a whole on a partition of the second hard drive. all i can think to do is format, but it seems to be a big deal over one codec

Ok, but it would be necessary to know the name of this device, capture card or what, wouldn't?
