error message in windows media player [SOLVED] codecs missing

when i try to play a web cam on the animal planet website through my windows media player it says it cannot play it because there are codecs missing.. i download a codec pack for windows xp and it still will not play the web cam.
please help.

As I see some video streams are in the Real format on that page. Maybe you need to install Real Alternative.

thank you very much for your response.. i already have real player but i wanted to try to play it in windows media player.
so windows media player is not for playing streaming videos or web cams such as this on animal planet website?
i appreciate your help.

If it won't play in WMP you can open the URL by pasting it to Real Player's 'Location' field. Or maybe with the 'Open URL' option of Media Player Classic.

if you go to http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/GiantPandas/ it plays on media player on that site and on the Animal Planet site it plays on real player.
I was trying to play it on my WMP from the URL and it tries to play it but says it cannot play the file because one or more codecs are missing to play it.

Yes and it's in Windows Media format, so WMP should play it.
I found the URL to the video on the page you provided.
Copy it to WMP's open URL.
However it doesn't wanna play bacause of 'too many users connected'.....

oh thank you thank you so much.. i copied that url above to my windows media player and it worked!! i appreciate this sooo much. i just had the wrong url address to play it on wmp.have a wonderful day and i surely am greatful for your help.
