I'm hoping someone has run across this before... I cannot hear the SOUND when i play any sort of RealMedia. If it's RealVideo, I see it but hear nothing. I can hear everything else -- QuickTime, WMP, etc. without issue.
things i've tried:
============
1) install RealPlayer 8
2) remove RealPlayer and install RealAlternative, pick JetAudio to play .RA, .RM, and .RAM files
3) go thru registry to clean up everything related to RealMedia, reinstall again
4) install RealOne Player
nothing works for hearing that sound. I am just stumped. I've never installed any codec packs found on here outside of RealAlternative.
I have Win2K Pro SP4, WMP9, QuickTime 6.5.2, JetAudio v.6.2.1. The only third-party codec I have is DivX v.5.2.1.
i'd appreciate any thoughts anyone has, as this is driving me crazy. I'd rather not have to deal with any RealMedia at all, but unfortunately it's used on some sites I visit.
thanks

You had better use Real Alternative or at least the latest RealPlayer 10.5.
And see this guide on 'How to uninstall Real Player completely' before you install RA or new RealPlayer.
