XP Codec pack 1.2.3 for playing Real [solved]

I have just started to use XP codec pack, it's really nice and seems to have a wide variety of codecs. When I installed I made sure to install every part of it.

Problem I'm having is that I'm trying to play an episode of Family Guy which is a .rm file. I have played it fine on Real Alternative, but I want to switch to xp codec pack since it supports real. It plays ok on the media player classic included with xp codec pack except that there is no sound at all. The image is fine, but no sound.

So I'm wondering why it will play a real file but not with sound... rofl.gif

XP Codec Pack supports Real only in case, when the Real codecs are installed by either Real Alternative or Real Player..

I don't know the solution, I don't like codec packs but not so long ago I installed Real Alternative on a machine where XP Codec Pack was already installed and didn't know why, I couldn't play Real files (error message: '...MPC could not render some of the pins in the graph...').
After removing the pack, I was able to stream that...

Then I would say uninstall XP Codec Pack and Real Alternative, then restart your PC and make a clean install of Real Alternative.
Later you can install the codecs you need one-by-one. It's the best.
And also saying this, 'cause I had exactly the same problem with an online streaming Real audio file.

I uninstalled 1.2.3 and rebooted. Then I installed 1.2.4 and guess what?

The same file works perfectly, with sound and everything! biggrin.gif

They must have added the missing codec that I reported.
