I'm running Widows XP.
Logged on this morning to discover that the picture on Media Player is playing in negative. No problem with anything else. This happens as well when I try and view video clips on BBC News for example. Cleared all temporary files and cookies but it still persists.
Can anybody help please.
Thanks
GG

What kind of videos play in negative? AVI (then what FourCC?), WMV?
Also do you've any codec packs installed? Uninstall then.

Sorry not yet au fait with all the abbreviations.
For example - this link and click the video tab for the lead story that's in negative. Anything I've already got on my PC seems to be OK. It's just things that stream in.

I installed some codecs last night and it appears to have made no difference.

Well, the codecs included in K-Lite Basic Pack (DivX Pro, XviD, Fraunhofer MP3 DirectShow decoder, AC3 DirectShow decoder, DirectVobSub, GSpot, VobSubStrip) shouldn't effect this windows media video...
That's why advised the WM9 codecs to reinstall.
As an alternative, you may try FFDShow.

Yes installing Window media codecs or getting latest WMP10 should fix prob since uses the WMP plugin.
(Also can view footage with Real Player plugin if choose that option)
Keep in mind need good BW speed for streaming. The player screen will appear black on screen till buffered.
Tested link with video button to article on BBC website and it works fine.
Or try dropping this URL in MPC:

go to options->performance->advanced and check "high quality mode" instead of "use overlays". That might help
