I can play all the MKV files I have downloaded with one very specific exception which is causing me great problems. I have installed the K-Lite MEGA Codec Pack. Currently running WinXP. Using a variety of media players including CoreMediaPlayer, VLC and MediaPlayerClassic. However I am unable to play a specific series of files from an anime fansub group. I have run this program called MatroskaDiag.exe and this is the log.

Any assistance is deeply appreciated.

And you can't watch at all? No video, no audio?
BTW this file looks corrupted...

This file has sound but no audio when I attempt to play it. It actually successfully played WITH sound and audio on a different PC when I transfered it. However it cannot play on my personal computer. I am forced to conclude I am missing certain codecs that my friend's PC has.

Ok, no video.
The best would be to render this file on the other computer with MatroskaDiag and see how decodes succesfully.
The video looks H.264(x264) format. I don't know if it's included in K-Lite Mega Pack there are many codecs in that monsterpack. But you can try to install x264 Video Codec.

Or set in FFDShow: Configuration -> Codecs - H264: libavcodec

How do i set this in FFDShow? COnfiguration -> Codec -> H264?

I attempted to dwnload the link u pasted but this x264 Codec unzips into an unusual x264.exe and x264gui.exe. I tried running x264.exe and a funny msdos page appeared for a second then disappeared. x264gui.exe had some weird options...

Updated: Managed to install the codec from another link on that link u gave me. Still no working... x-x

Updated 2: I no longer have access to this other PC x-x. No longer possible to check there... x-x

Find FFDShow/Configuration in Start menu, then.. see picture

Its not there.... the K-Lite Codec pack comes with it but i dun see it inside.. a search in WinXP for FFDShow found nothing too... should I install the FFDShow separately for this box to appear?

Update: OK. I found this box by installing it separately. It says

does this means its alreaady set?
