I've deinstalled my Windows Media Player 9 completely and use MPlayer and Media Player Classic for everything. Now, is there a alternative plugin player for asx for Mozilla or do i still need the windows media player for playing streamed files within mozilla/iexplore?

Then you'll probably have to copy the URL of the streaming video into MPC's "Open URL" option. But you'll still need the windows media codecs of course.
If you had uninstalled the codecs too, see the link in pinned topic 'Guide to Using Codecs' how to get them installed separately from WMP.
/and also make the file associations in Media Player Classic's options/

I still have the codecs working. It just would be interessting, if there is a alternative plugin for mozilla, so that i don't have to copy&paste the url into the external player.
