I'm looking for a good freeware iso builder .... I don't want converters just a builder ... it's kinda hard to find a good one.

Or ... I dont really need one if you tell me where to download a non-corrupt version of Mandriva Linux ... for some reason one of the kernel iso packets seems to corrupt from EVERY SERVER I TRY mad.gif , and it's a different iso packet every time blink.gif ... or is there a better free linux download, one with plenty of pre-installed drivers so it might just work ? wink.gif

(Basically, I've been thinking to fix it by extracting the iso, replacing the corrupt file with a good version and then rebuilding the iso (this is the hard part))

Hey, TeXMeX I found this great small program, but I forgot where I downloaded it from so I attached it to this post.... happy.gif So far it has done great on my system (Without using any resources- almost. tongue.gif) I haven't tried Mandriva.. I kind of want too though. If you are looking for a flavor of Linux that comes with a lot of extra software and drivers you might want to give SuSe Linux a try.

Thanks for the software yall ... that should do for the Mandriva problem biggrin.gif ...

but I have 1 more question ... for the SUSE Linux all the versions you can download are evaluation versions right ? Or is there a free, but reduced in size version like Mandriva ? And does evaluation version mean you can use it for like 30 days and then you have to buy it or uninstall it ? I looked through their site, but I cant seem to find the answer ... the only thing I see is free is the ftp install ? huh.gif

I mean eventually, if I think linux is good enough I will switch over completely and buy a Linux OS .... but until then I need a free version (preferably with no evaluation or time limit, cuz I cant work with it every day ... just when I have time I can try to learn it mellow.gif )

The reason SuSe cost money is that it comes with commercial software, the ISO downloads are completly free without the commerical apps included, as they say and I've heard.

Ohhhh ... I get it. Yeah, it makes sense, ok then thanks, I'll try to install it, only it's very hard to dual-boot, do you know of a good dual-boot loader for loading Windows XP and Linux on same system ? (I tried grub, but the instructions on how to install it are impossible)

I can't completely get rid of Windows right now, because I'm in college, and the compatibility to the monopolized school computers is a real issue, so I'd prefer to have Windows on hand as much as I hate it sad.gif
