adding subtitles to a video [solved]

hi
i downloaded the movie of FFVII advent children in japanese and then the subtitles th video is video clip format i think that avi and the subtitles are .srt format so i would like to know how can i watch the video with subtitles

Anyway, try this thread for hints:

P.S. Using MPC along with DirectVOB will work. Just matter of keeping the same filename and directing DirectVOB to where the external SRT file is located.

i thought i would easily find directvob and solve my problem but then i realised that, hem i dont know what directvob is, so can anyone explain where can i get it

Install DirectVobSub. If you are not sure how to install, read the guide:
How to install/uninstall DLL and AX codec files.
Then use Media Player Classic (for example) to open the AVI and the subtitles.

Hi, so i had the exact same problem.. i got direct voc sub and installed that .dll then i downloaded mpclassic and there is whenre i get stuck..

i cant get it to import the .srt i have need digging all through the subtitle options i dont know where i am going wrong.

Jackpanda, how did you get it to work in mp classic?
