WinAVI probs [solved] need quicktime or higher?

I have bought the WINAVI converter and everything is ok except when I open it the player tells me I need quicktime codec 6.5 or higher. The only place I can find this version in Klite mega codecs pack. QuickTime codecs [version 6.5.2.10]

Does this mean that I will now have to remove the ace mega codec pack (custom) that I have installed on my PC or is there another way to get the later version of quicktime codec.??

I also have quicktime alternative but it dosent play in media player (other than classic).

Sounds like a codecs & Tools topic

Yes you will need Quicktime and Real Alternative if you are doing any RM/RMVB/MOV conversions with WINAVI Converter.
The latest K-lite Mega Pack does have it, but make sure do a custom install and don't install codecs that you don't need.
Yes, but best to use a DirectShow player like MPC to play videos. cool.gif

Thank You Mischcabob,

The converter works fine after loading Klite rather than ace. The only thing I had to do extra was upgrade from player 9 to player 10.

Sorry for the posting in wrong section.

I have the same problem but despite downloading both quicktime and quicktime real alternative, WinAVI still freezes my system. Can anybody help?
