anybody knows hardware requirements to capture video (full PAL/NTSC without dropped frames) from tv tuner into M-Jpeg codec(s)? There are many versions so if you tried more, write all. My PC: Intel Celeron 1,1 Ghz, 288 Mb SD Ram, GForce 2 64 MB and Windows XP. thanx a lot

If you are doing any serious video capture/editing, you need at least Pentium 4 2GHZ/Athlon XP 2000+.
A Celeron is not going to cut it. Also at least 512MB of DDR RAm is recommended.

Pick a good capture card with hardware encoding so will be less taxing on system. Your video card is adequate, but don't expect to do any real time frame rendering. wink.gif

I know. But i don't want to capture in mpeg-2 because mjpeg is the best option to later editing. I heard that with PIC mjpeg video codec is able to capture with 600 Mhz processor and higher - but it's not free. And i just want to know if there are codecs like this (but free)...i don;t want to make professional movies...
