I'm just wondering why does the latest version of QuickTime Alternative v1.63 have a crack code/serial number in it (QuickTime Control Panel Applet).

So no ideas/response on this? I'm starting to get the impression that it is a "hush hush" sort of thing. You know, "don't talk about the illegal serial number that's there, it's so kewl and 3l33t".
'Fraid to say that with the inclusion of a crack code/serial number with QuickTime Alternative, even though it is only codecs and all, it does now put QuickTime Alternative into the "warez" category of all things (unless the author of the proggie would like to clarify the situation a bit more).

Well, your inquiry about quicktime alternative is not exactly pressing is it?
Yes, there is a bit of grey area when it comes to codec packs, freeware proggies that are reverse-engineered and ripped from the original source. Like previous versions, it's just a stripped down freeware version of Quicktime without extra bloat and advanced features of the pro version.
I suggest you contact the author if you have qualms about it.
