Playing .vob file on DivX 6. It plays on my laptop, but transferred it to my pc and it doesn't play there.

Message says:

Error opening file: Failed to open file. Please check that it is a valid avi or mpeg-4 file.

I only have the ac3filter codec on both, but don't see how that would make a difference. ffdshow (2005-10-18) didn't make a difference either.

Please let me know what I can do to make it work.

Thanks, Aaron

I ran Gspot and it says that I don't have an mpeg-2 video codec. Can anyone recommend a good one? I think I need a decoder codec or something. I tried the new version of ffdshow, but it didn't seem to work too well.

suggestions?

thanks, aaron

well as strange as that was, Stinky worked. I don't have stinky on my laptop though. I guess I had something else that already had the old codec on it. Now I have like 5 codecs that I don't need installed. Would they cause any conflicts? Should I bother uninstalling? (besides the fact that it takes 1/2 a sec to uninstall all of them)

Thanks for the help though! you guys are great!
