Some kind of flash design thing?

Hi, as you can see i'm a knewbie so i hope i dont offend anyone by demanding things of you after just one post...

Basically earlier on this evening i saw this game film thing that i thought was a bit of alright and got inspired to do something like it myself despite knowing v little about programming or anything difficult... i once made an animated gif avatar for myself but thats about the extent of my expertise.

So i'm looking for a freeware animator thing that i can make cartoon type things on? I think what i'm probably looking for is a flash/shockwave maker, i don't need 3d or anything fancy like that. I looked for one on download.com and snapfiles.com but neither gave me anything satisfactory.

I guess it could be that i have to go and buy Flash Director or something from macromedia and that's why my search has been fruitless so far. I don't feel like spending any money though as my student loan is getting dangerously low.

But if anyone knows any free software for making flash things or anything in that kind of direction you would make my day.

Cheers

I hate to tell you no, but the really good stuff does cost money unless you are willing to use cracks and hacks.

And I won't.

I haven't looked for any this kind since I'm trying to avoid it, but I can give a look around for you on one of my software searches.

What are you looking for in a flash program???

ah, thats a bummer. i don't really like using cracks and stuff either as i'm using internet from uni and could get caught...

if you could look for something that you could basically make an episode of south park on, that's what i'm looking for. i'm obviously not going to make an episode of south park but thats the kind of thing.

also i'd like it to have a making buttons feature. where you can make buttons.

thanks for replying!

Would you beleive me if I asked you what is "South Park" ??

I've never really seen it, and from the bits I think I saw, I tried really hard to forget it.

But I think you are ging for the flat look right? paper on paper cut outs. give me two weeks. I see what I can find.

Don't hurt yourself out there.

Hey, don't you have a computer of your own??? huh.gif

Labs don't like people installing such stuff on their computers.

We don't condone cracks or pirated stuff on forum anyway. wink.gif

I recommend commercial apps and getting necessary training i.e. some ebooks or tutorials if want to get serious about flash animation.

But if on a shoe-string budget.....check out the pinned thread under DOWNLOAD LINKS:

Koolmoves isn't a bad little program:

Otherwise, d/l a copy of Macromedia flash and check out tutorials:

Good luck cool.gif

Yeah, i used not to like South Park either, but then i grew into a student and became more immature. I can see why people don't like it. Especially people from canada, as it rips the piss out of canadians. But i bloody love it. I also love canadians, as they gave birth to The Arcade Fire which is my fave band of the moment.

It's ok, i have my own computer in halls, it's just that they monitor what we're checking out / download on the internet and would probably get huffy if they discovered hacks and stuff.

Anyway it looks like Mischabob has saved the day with his Koolmoves program although it probably has restrictions as it is shareware... we shall see. No doubt i will buy a commercial thingy when i eventually get round to earning some money.

Thanks everyone for helping out. cool.gif

and, er, no i'll try not to hurt myself jhoy, thanks for the warning... huh.gif

I'm off the hook... not that I would have minded staying up until 3am looking for flash making software. blush.gif

I did find out one thing today by starting my search for you. There are a lot of flash website builders out there. I may have to look deeper into a few for work related things. smile.gif

Thanks "Mischcabob".

Take care "I Let You Go"

See ya around.
