Ok, basically I uninstalled Classic Media Player, but now WMV files on the internet are stuck using the classic player. For some reason now, WM9 encoded video will not work.
How do I set my default media player back to Windows Media player 10 so that it will play movies embedded in a webpage?

Just tick the boxes next to Windows Media file-types (the File Associations) in Windows Media Player (asf, etc..) and uncheck these in Media Player Classic.

This didnt work... I even tried removing instances of Classic Media Player from the registry. And I'm still getting the Classic interface (which is not playing some formats that are embedded onto webpages)

Just re-install WMP 10, that should fix it
