HI I need some help with DVD burning. I have just got a EMPREX DRW1016UI externall DVD writer, but am having little luck in getting good results. I am trying to copy a DVD and have used a dvd decrypter and then shrink 3.2. I have got to the position where I have the DVD on my desktop and when transfering to the DVD the burn seems to go ok but I am unable to play on my DVD player. The DVD will play on my laptop as long as I double click the file to start it off. What am I doing wrong can anybody help??

Try reading the pinned topic.
Usually narrows down to right media and format compatibility. Does it support DVD-+R? Assuming you burned the DVD video files properly i.e. TS_VIDEO and TS_AUDIO folders.... try burning the DVD at slower speed and use good brand name media like Princo etc.
Also, get latest firmware for your burner:
http://www.drvupdate.com/
P.S> If you have to double-click then likely autorun is not enabled on laptop.

It shows as a CDFS file on my lap top am I doing something wrong. I have checked and the disc I am using is compatable with my dvd player.
What do you mean CDFS? That stands for CD-ROM File System. Should be burning as DVD video so that's why not being recognized. Also, possible laptop windows software & drivers need to be updated if it misinterprets the data on the DVD.Anyway, I suggest you review the DVD tutorial here. I can't walk you through every step, but maybe that will help. Good luck
P.S> Also, please don't type in CAPS. That is the equivalent to yelling!
