Can someone please help me with the following:
My Windows media player(version 9) tells me I'm missing a codec to play a file but I don't have a clue how to know which one that is!! How can I tell?
I've installed ffdshow, ac3, indeo etc. but I'm not really into this stuff. I've tried installing the K-lite codec pack, but that didn't help. How can I find out what codecs are needed?
Thanks!!

Normally WMP will tell you the error code and try to download the codecs. Well, can't speak for WMP9 since I haven't used that for over a year. This page will help you troublshoot what codecs you need:
http://www.updatexp.com/codec-for-windows-...a-player-9.html
Otherwise, open the media file with GSPOT or another tool called Sherlock codec Detective to find out what codecs you have installed and what codecs it needs.
