Hey guys. I've been trying to rip songs of my CD's and rip them onto my computer as an mp3 file, but every time I try it says "Windows Media Player cannot rip the track because a compatible MP3 encoder is not installed on your computer. Install a compatible MP3 encoder or choose a different format to rip to (such as Windows Media Audio)."
Does anyone either know where I can get one of these or what I'm doing wrong?
I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone could get back to me. Peace.

Here try this link. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
It's a bunch of codecs from MS for Windows Media Player 9 and up.
It should have a mp3 codec in there for you.
If not, you can pick up K-Lite codec pack. That is the one I'm using, but you just want mp3.
Don't have to go that far unless you have to.

Hi. for burning mp3s on WMP, try the method outlined in this link:
http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t238704.html
What is suggested there worked for me.
I try to avoid codec packs, they tend to have too much stuff, and outdated stuff, and conflict-causing stuff... just get the actual codecs you need and stick with those.
Best, Jongira
