I have a movie (a quicktime file) that was made on a Mac (taken from a video camera).
And I want to play it on my Windows. Doesn't work with the quicktime player. and I haven't manage
to find any codec or converter that can fix this problem.

any suggestions???

I remember a long time ago having the same problem. I had some MOV files and they must be first "flatten" at the Mac (with a tiny app called FlatMoov or so)... But it was in the old days of the Mac OS 8, so with the OS X I don't know if the behaviour is the same...
Only one thing: make sure that you pick the real QT movie (the big file), not the resource of this (they're split when passing to PC systems). But I guess that you know this tongue.gif

Only a suggestion: uninstall the oficial Apple package and install Quicktime Alternative or K-Lite Codec Mega Pack. The latest versions have the same codecs that QT 7.0.3.50 without all the bloated additional soft wink.gif
With this, I can play all the QT movies from all the sites (Apple one included) in its small and fast Media Player Classic.

Thank you for the help.
But when you talked about the "real QT movie (the big file), not the resource of this" did you mean the hole movie instead of the small clips from the big original movie? how can I get the "big file" when the app splits the movie when upload?

Maybe someone has a link to this "flatten" app you talked about ?

Let me to explain.
When you copy any file from a Mac to a PC media (disks, USB sticks, etc), it writes its hidden "resources", i.e. little files with the same names of the original ones / folders as ".Trashes". They are useful for MacOS but garbage for Windows. Normally, they aren't showed at the PC, but sometimes Windows confuses about them.
I spoke of those, not the small clips.

Gimme more info: do you have access to the Mac with the original file? Which MacOS version it has?
And, which version of Windows and Quicktime do you have in your PC?

I Have access to the Mac with the original files, it's my friend's computer. I'm not sure which MacOS version it has, it's brand new so probably the latest. I have WIN2000 and Quicktime 7.0.3.
My friend told me that there's gonna be a problem with playing his files on my computer...not only movies but also pictures and some documents.

Maybe I should just try to copy the files again with IMovie but this time change the codecs or somthing?

You can try to copy the file in the Finder (Mac OS equivalent to Windows Explorer) not inside iMovie. Search for it pressing command+F and putting on the filename. Copy the search result to your PC media and try to look it.

Other suggestion: I'm not sure, but I think that iMovie has an "Export" option. You can try this one, changing the final format, too...

Good luck.
