Switching audio/language tracks [solved]

I recently installed the XP Codec Pack and I can't get the option to switch language tracks when playing OGM files. Is there a utility that I'm missing? I'm using Windows Media Player 9. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Hi ya.

Well aren't we up early.

There is a way, but I don't think Windows Media Player 9 has that option. I've attached how it looks like it can be done in version 10. I would like to think that a list of present audio tracks would show up there. I don't have such files on this computer to test that right no. Sorry.

Number of downloads: 356

Now if you don't mind installing and using something else get the K-Lite pack.

I use K-Lite pack and that comes with a tool that lets me switch from English to Japanese. When the classic player starts up, a green arrow shows up in the system try. I right click on it and at the top of the list it shows all the audio tracks that came with the film, and I just click on the one that I want to hear. It pauses for a second then it starts playing the one I picked.

Oh, it was the full pack I got, and I chose the option to use media classic to play my files.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the screenshot. Unfortunately, the "Audio and Language Tracks" option doesn't seem to make any difference. However, I was able to get it to work by installing "Ogg DirectShow Filters 0.9.9.6." After the installation, the VobSub Tray Icon had new settings "Language: English" and "Language: Japanese". I think I needed the Ogg DirectShow Filters and the XP Codec Pack doesn't include that.

Most likly, that is included in the k-lite pack.

I gave up downloading single codecs a few years ago.

I just got as much as I could one time since I knew that I would be getting files from all over and had files from all over.

So instead of wanting to play something just to find out that I had to find a codec, I already have I just have to worry about everything else that could be wrong. biggrin.gif
