xosl just wanted to know

hey! i just wanted to know if there's a newer version of xosl (extended operating system loader). if there is, is it compatible with windows xp? mellow.gif

Yes, it will work with all PC OSs. WIN XP does have built-in boot manager when you install oldest to newest. (It will automatically recognize them, write to the the BOOT.INI file and create simple menu)

Another alternative boot manager is VCOM System Commander:

Unless advanced user I wouldn't touch the System file.. WINXP will do it for you along with other Boot managers.

Just do a search with Google... you will lots of solutions how to create multi-boot system.

yah. i already know the boot thing with win xp. i just wanted to know what i should do to run xosl on top of win xp's boot-in manager. i tried xosl once on a unit that has win 98 and win xp but i ended up with using xp's boot manager... unsure.gif

Frankly don't know much about XOSL. It should overide WINXP boot manager by default... likely uses boot disks to wite info to boot record. Last time I did a dual boot was with linux LILO boot manager...Corel Linux and Windows ME so can't help you much.
