hello I'm new here and have been searching this website awhile now looking for a solution for my problems, I downloaded two videos who play in slowmotion (movie and sound) all my other videos play just fine. I noticed that when downloading them (through edonkey) that the codec "y41p" was mentioned

But since I'm totally new to this I have no idea how to install this and make the videos play normally, any tips .... ???? thanks

This is an uncompressed YUV 411 format. Download the ZIP and add VIDC.BT20=btvvc32.drv and VIDC.Y41P=btvvc32.drv to the [drivers32] section of your SYSTEM.INI to enable the codec

hello thanks for the tip, but so far not working. I'm probably doing something wrong because I'm a total newbie at this kind of stuff, so what I did was cut and paste the vidc=.... etc and pasted it in my windows folder in the file "system" so far so good I think? But where do I put the codec itself , I extracted it into the folder windows\system32\drivers??? Was that correct or do I need to put it so place else
Sorry for the in your eyes probably stupid questions but like I said this is totally new to me thanks

Haven't tried this old codec (also included with ACE Mega Codec pack). Seems to me after you make the entry to SYSTEM.INI file, the DRV file should be copied to your windows/system (win9x/me) , winnt/system32 (win NT/2000) or windows/system32 (winxp) folder.

Extra steps if using WINXP...Open Notpad and add this info:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionDrivers32]
"VIDC.BT20"="btvvc32.drv"
"VIDC.Y41P"="btvvc32.drv"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersiondrivers.desc]
"btvvc32.drv"="Brooktree ProSumer 32-Bit Video/411 Video Codec"
Save it as *.reg file and merge into registry. Hope it works. cool.gif
