Real Alternative no streams... [solved]

I've installed real alternative and media player classic, but if I open a "realplayer stream file" (like .ram) from a website, the classic media player can't play it. It says then: 'Cannot render the file'.
So I still can't play (all) realplayer files. Could anyone help me and tell me what to do?

I'm not sure why you choose not to install the full verson of Real. I would think that only those who were low on hard drive space would choose the striped down version.
I haven't needed to or have installed the lite verson of Real, so I can't say if it can even do streams like the full one does.
So I just have one real question to ask. Have you tried using the normal version of Real with your current codecs that you have installed to see if it would play your file?
Also, since you are trying to use Media Classic did you get that with a codec pack or was it installed by itself?

Real Alternative is not a "stripped-down" or "lite" version of Real - it's an alternative version, sans adware, spyware and other niceties.
Yeah, I have the same problem: some streaming media plays, but not .ram. I get the same error with Media Player Classic, WMP9 won't play it, neither will Winamp.
Any ideas?

My first question still stands.
What about using the normal version?

Don't wanna?
'Course, I'll have to if I have no other choice. But I was hoping someone might have a solution. Doesn't anyone else use RA to play streamed media?

Update: found a solution for my problem. it was as simple as changing the options in the MPC:
