Problem with Real Media Videos Video is varicolourd (with attachment)

Hi,

i have some real media videos that i want to play with Media Player Classic and Real Alternative 1.46 Codec. Unfortunately i don't get it to work properly. I can play the videos and i do see a picture but the picture is full of wrong colors (see attached picture). When i try to play the video with the normal Media Player i don't even see a picture and VLC don't even loads the video.

I also have a problem with playing .wmv files. I have install the Media Player 7.0 because this was needed to install the WMV9 Codec from the Microsoft website. With the Media Player 7.0 my videos play fine but with Media Player Classic i get the error "failed to render the file" and with the normal Media Player says "could not find codec" and "a wrong media type was given".

In Media Player Classic under Options -> Output -> Directshow i have set "old renderer" for the .rm files, then they show varicolourd, when i set directshow to "system default" the picture looks really like a mosaic. I also had the problem with mosaic looking picture with wmv files too lately.

I hope someone can help me here. Would be great!

Hans

HI,

If u want your real media files to play properly then either u can download Cole2K codec pack or you can to the microsoft download center to download windows media 9 codecs. This should help you. Reply me through this forum if this doesnt solve your problem.
