I recently reinstalled windows. When I installed it I also put k-lite mega codec pack, which i have always used. Later I was playing a video on the web and the colors were all weired, I thought it was just a problem with the video. Then I was playing a file from my pc which I knew was ok and it had the same problem. Thats when I found out that all .wmv's had that problem. Usualy when I d=had problems like that a reinstall of k-lite fixed it but I reinstalled it all 3 times and still have the problem. I dont know when or what started it and after installing all my stuff again I dont want to system restore. I found that by dissabling "use mixing renderer" in the hardware acceleration options the video played fine but the problem is that it monly works in windows media player (which $uck$). So how can I fix it?
Thanks.

Hello.
Off the top of my head since you said it is your .wmv files that are having a video codec issue I'll ask you if you have tried installed window media codec 9 from microsoft.
If you not, you can give that a shot and it may fix what is trying to run .wmv files and doing it incorrectly.
Here's the link.
I almost didn't find it under the name I was looking for. I was starting to think that I was lying to you.
Ok. see if that helps. You have to have a genuine copy of XP installed to get the download.
