I haven't gotten any help here yet so I am trying one last time. I downloaded the most obscurely GUI'd interface I have every seen called ffdshow, it looks like a Linux app. There is no readme that I can find at the sourceforege site. I have googled. There is no guide here that I can find. There is no readme with the K-Lite codec pack. I do not know how to use this. All I know is that it is sitting there in the K-Lite pack entry on the programs list in windows.

someone throw me a bone this time, huh?

I have never posted to a forum for Linux, Windows, or anything else for that matter and had so many people look at my posts and not even post back, "go to hell" or at least something. I realize that my posts are really basic. Most people don't give a crap about codecs, actually neither do I. I just want to try ffdshow to see if I like my DVD movies better with it than I do with PowerDVD. I assume that it is "running" - whatever that means for ffdshow - because windows media player 10 will play DVD movies now. They look absolutly horrible though. If I am right, that ffdshow is now working with WMP 10, then I could use a guide or some documentation on how to use it.

ffdshow if a post-prossesing soft for compressed video!!
use it only for mpeg4(divx,xvid...)
its not really usefull for dvd!!(the codec used by ffdshow is not good)
all you have to do is : go in codec and chose xvid decoder for xvid format(give a better quality!!)

enable post-prossesing!, enable full image, enable nic's an mplayer method(srry if theire is some mistake i have it in french )all is in the post-prossessing section!!

(to go in ffdshow option start a movie in winamp and select view file info and selec ffdshow mpeg-4 video.....)
i hope i helped you a litle bit!!
