Media Player Classic file association problem

Hi, I installed three programs in this order: Media Player Classic, Quicktime Alternative, and finally the latest K-lite Codec Pack.

I also have Winamp installed and use it as my primary audio program. I want Media Player Classic to ONLY play Video files. When I open Media Player Classic, I go to the formats section and click "Video" to select all the video file formats.

The problem is, when I do that and click Apply or OK, and exit out of MPClassic, I run the program again and find out that not only has it associated itself with the video files, but also all the audio files!

It's really frustrating because it is constantly taking over all video and audio files. Please help me smile.gif Thanks

How about just clicking the files you want to have handled rather than hitting the all video choice?

Opening Winamp and having it take over the audio didn't work, I already tried that.

Checking the file types instead of clicking the all "Video" button doesn't work either.

However, I just recently found a stupid fix. I went through all the file types under the MPClassic Options that I did NOT want associated, and simply deleted them from the text box. Silly, but it worked wink.gif
