Well, I applaud you for switching to Firefox...more secure and faster browser and don't have to worry about potentionally nasty ActiveX. wink.gif Been using for almost a year now... with no crashes. wink.gif

Could be many factors..too vague of error. Looking at technical details of error gives you a hint. Could be site or conflict with spyware/activeX plugins that can cause conflicts.

Wouldn't worry about it now... but I would consider using anti-spyware sweeper, firewall, anti-virus on a regular basis. Any further help, feel free to start a new thread on that new issue. smile.gif

Besides that, what kind of internet connection do you have?

If you have dial up it may be having some connection problems or timing out. :/

Hi,

I had a similar problems ... System had been shuting down IE6.0 in the middle of som activity... I solved this problem with not using it rofl.gif

But I substituted it by Netscape Navigator ... It is a little bit slower but never crushes down (it's my opinion) and doesnot obay to Windows Interrnet Settings ... This last one I like very much wink.gif

You might want to review your system services configuration as well - blackviper.com is an excellent reference tool. Go to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services to access/modify your services configuration. I would not recommend changing your default settings if your knowledge of Windows is at a beginner's level - except for Messenger & Error Reporting which you should be able to safely change from Automatic to Disabled (reboot after changing). Please review the blackviper web site prior to making any changes.

Another recommendation is to check your startup programs - too many startups can cause OS instability/crashes. Pacman's website (pacs-portal) has an extensive knowledge base regarding startups. Codestuff Starter is a very good startup manager for beginners & includes a useful alternate view for running processes - simply uncheck the box in front of any program & reboot to remove from your startup config. You can recheck the box & reboot to reverse any change. These steps should reduce resource demand & improve system performance.

Good luck - hope you stabilize your system.
