Strange Problem, Need Help Bad.

I've got a really weird problem when it comes to playing certain videos.

What happens is that on playback, there are blue and red dots/squares popping randomly all over the video screen. I have no idea why this is happening, but I figure it's a codec problem. I've used GSpot, but it tells me that all the codecs needed are installed.

I don't really want to download any codec packs since I had trouble with them before, so I'm wondering if anyone knows why I'm having this problem, or if I am actually missing a certain codec that GSpot isn't knowledgable of. Any help is appreciated.

Here are some screenshots:

Have you tried installing newest display drivers for video card? Also make sure running latest directX 9c.
Can try rolling back drivers if having probs too.

Well, here's the thing..

I formatted my computer a few months ago. Before I formatted I had the K-Lite Codec Pack (or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack) installed. My videos didn't have these red and blue dots pop up but I had some other trouble playing videos in browsers and I suspect it was from the codec pack. I had the same drivers as I do now, though, so that's why I don't think it's a driver issue and do think it's a codec issue. I was just hoping someone might know what the codec I'm missing is specifically. blush.gif

it doesnt look like a codec problem!!
more like a driver or player prob....

We can't tell you what codec from a screenshot. You failed to provide the info or screenshot from GSPOT. blink.gif

More info you could have provided...What type of vid card? (I assume you have old card..likely ATI since they are more proned to driver issues then Nvidia) What version of Catalyst driver or forceware drivers are you using?

Have you tried other multimedia players? LIkely driver issue like I said, but can try altering output config in player.
i.e. Overlay Mixer or renderless (using DirectX) if using Media Player Classic.
If have older card, you can also try decreasing Hardware acceleration on card. wink.gif
