I have a dual Xeon System I use for editing and when I playback uncompressed .avi files the colors are perfect. If I compress them, with say ffdshow and playback the colors tend to a red tint. I can take the same files to most other computers and I see virtually no red tint (with ffdshow); the uncompressed and compressed colors are the same. Using MPlayer Classic on the dual Xeon system, if I change the Options, Output, Directshow Video from system default to VMR9 (renderless), the colors then appear normal (no red tint), although the image is a little washed out.
I have gone to the extreme of temporarily replacing my :c drive with a new XP installation and to my amazement videos still have the same red tint.
anyone have an idea of what is going on?
Thanks,
Mike

Since you have a clean reinstall the problem is still there, ever thought that it might be your card?

Yes, I had that thought, so I changed from my Nvidia card to an ATI card before I did the reinstall. Same result, though.....
Thanks,
