Well I searched in the forum, but I couldn't find a matching problem sad.gif

So this is my problem:

When I want to open an .avi or anyother video format I get an error message in Media Player Classic (Other players don't work either) Below is a picture.

And I made a screen with Gspot:

As you can see the codecs are installed, but I get no display huh.gif

I hope someone knows an answer to this problem otherwise I think I'm forced to reinstall windows, what takes alot of time sad.gif

Thanks for your time peace.gif

I have a dumb question.

What is the full file name of your file?

whatever.avi.iso ?

So none of the videos can be played?

(just re-read you first post)

I would say do a clean and then install k-lite standard and see what happens.

Clean - uninstall all movie players not counting (real, quicktime or windows media player). Uninstall all codes that you installed with players or by themselves.

Reboot, clean out temp files and any folders left behind from any of the uninstalls that you can see in programs files or the c: drive.

Do a reg clean. Pick a program that you like or try Tune up or Ashampoo. *They also clean your hard drive of junk files. *

Reboot, and just install the k-lite pack.

-----

Now if that doesn't work, then we may be looking at a re-install or a repair of your OS.

It could be a conflict between codecs. Did you try to render the file (you can find the button(s) at the bottom of GSpot)?

A repair of the OS?

If you have XP it's easy. You just need a bootable xp cd. If you really want to know the steps let me know.

I've done it twice and I haven't lost data yet.

Sure.

Hope it works.

I never like having to start all back over again, even when it can't be helped.

both drives gone "bad" at the SAME time? I think it's the ATI Video driver and XP SP2 conflicting w/ 1 another. But I will try the drives in another computer.

Thanks! blink.gif
