Diagnose a Windows Media file? Have a .wmv file that won't play.

I have a .wmv file that won't play. MPC simply says that it can't render the file. I have all the latest codecs (as far as I know). Is there a way to find out what's wrong?

try with wmp10 or 9 the copyright can be expired for the file!!
