Help
Hi, I installed real alternative. When I opened rmvb or rm file with WMP 10, it only had audio. The video was always black. I played the same files by media player classic, they worked perfectly. Any help is appreciated!

WMP doesn't show video with Real Alternative

so what's the problem? Real media is not meant to played with WMP anyway.
That's why real alternative is bundled with MPC.

The initial purpose had been to use TMPGEnc Plus to convert rmvb/rm to mpeg. However I found that TMPGEnc Plus only showed blank video but had audio fine. And then I found out that if WMP can not play rm/rmvb, Neither can TMPGEnc. From my understanding, Real Alternative will have a RealMedia Splitter installed as a DirectShow codec, that should let WMP play rm/rmvb file. But it apparently didn't work for me.
Any Help?

wmp will never play rm file!!!

I installed Real Alternative 1.46 which includes RealMedia Splitter 1.0.1.1.

I tried both 1.0.1.1 and 1.0.1.0. No luck. WMP and TMPGEnc still didn't show rm/rmvb video but just audio. Any idea?

Well, yes it happens if the ANY player does not handles, the video compatible codec.
