Sorry if this sounds fundamental. I have a amd athlon xp processor and I'm trying to load adobe premier to make some movies. During installation it says I do not have SSE2 support on my machine. Can I download it somewhere or update it? Help.

According to this.
http://www.tommesani.com/SSE2Intro.html (I didn't understand most of it)
SSE2 isn't something you can add.
You would have to get a new CPU. It seems that it's a feature of the P4 and what comes after it.
Unless the software said that it won't install or work on your computer, you just won't miss something that it can't do with an AMD chip.

Yes, AMD uses different optimization i.e. MMX, 3DNOW, SSE. However, if you get Athlon 64 chip, it supports SSE2.

Yes I know. I was hoping not to have to buy another motherboard and the such.......this board has a 462socket. I'm dissapointed since the machine isn't very old and runs great......

Well then just use a different video editing package that doesn't rely on SSE2 optimization.
