Problem with MP3's skipping in Nero

I installed the k-lite codec pack to fix an out of sync sound problem I had when converting AVI's to DVD's. This fixed it great, but now I have a problem when making audio cd's from MP3's in Nero.

Anything I try and use just skips, that is trying to playback when adding in Nero, burning to an image file, or cd, it just skips everytime in the same place. I've installed Nero 7 and tried the mp3pro.dll fix, but Nero seems to be using FFDshow Audio codec (appears in tray) whenever I play or convert any MP3.

Can anyone help me, it's doing my head in sad.gif

Well specify what player you use when playing audio/MP3s? Not sure why you need to burn music as image.

Is it just MP3Pro music format that you are having probs with playback? Not sure FFDshow will play nero MP3Pro format properly. Try regular MP3 standard format and trying to play audio cds on home stereo system. If doesn't skip then it's an issue with computer software.

Skipping can occur if computer doesn't meet specs or using too much resources. Is that the case?

Cheers for the reply,

Ok I play MP3's on Winamp, WMP, Itunes, they are all perfect. I burn them as an image instead of straight to a cd to eliminate any problem with my cd writer.

All Audio CD's and all MP3's play fine on my pc, it's just when trying to make an audio cd in Nero, and it appears to be using the FFDshow codec instead of the MP3pro one, which i've been told it should use, but I don't know how to make Nero use this again.

I've rebooted, closed every startup app, shut anything not required, so just Nero running. Older pc, but a P4 2.4ghz with 512mb should be able to handle an MP3 conversion to audio cd ok.

Just as a test I installed Roxio easy media creator, and played back, converted, and made a cd fine, so it looks like it's just Nero thats confused, but I want to use Nero as it's worked fine before sad.gif

Did you get latest Nero bug fix/update? Update 1 and Update 2.
Nero 7 is the latest version that I use along with the PowerPack and don't have any probs burning with Nero Express.

Not sure about your burner.. but can try burning at slower speed. You are just trying to burn standard MP3 music files, right?

I have just updated to version 7.0.8.2, I think thats the latest, and problem is still the same, because it's still using that codec I think.

I did try different burning speeds, but like I said i've eliminated my burner by a) preview playing in Nero and getting same skipping in same part and cool.gif burning to an image .nrg file and playing from that, same problem sad.gif
