splitting video which soft?

i know there's a lot of software that can be used to split a video file ... but none of them which i tried make me satisfied ...
i have a .avi file 850 MB and wanna split it into 2 in which each one has a same quality as the original one 9 same frame rate and resolution). Hence, the problem is, after trying to split it to keep the quality, most of results which i tested from using different software return a splitted file which is larger than 1 GB ???

Can anyone suggest a software or tool that is easy to use to split a video file ?
