Hi

I'm a complete newbie to the world of codecs and such. I have been having trouble playing an AVI file in DivX, everytime I go to play this it comes up that I need Codec H264. I have downloaded various packs/codecs that should fix this, yet when it finishes been downloaded I can't open the codec file. Also when I try to open it in Media Player (version 9) it searches for the codec but then says it could find any. It then goes on and plays the AVI file, but with no sound or picture.

The codecs I have downloaded are Storm Codec 6.01.28, 86 and 266 from Free-Codecs.com. is there a program I need to be able to open these codecs or should they open automatically?

Cheers in advance thumbsup.gif

I've got some serious codec-problems too and the outcome was that I had to reinstall windows.
So If you can't find any solution, reinstall the whole thing and avoid the codec-pacs. At least many of the codec-pacs brings troubles.
