Some videos play upside down and backwards, and the latest update to Windows Media Player doesn't appear to resolve this. Is there some sort of codec preferences setting I need to fix to prevent this from happening?
thanks,
CB

What codec are you using. I know there is an option to correct this in the ffdshow codec,
this may be cause my videos encoded by and/or decoded by some very old MPEG4 codecs.

I'm using the K-Lite Codec pack, and have no idea which specific codec the files are using. The FFshow system tray icon does not show up during playback. Also, this doesn't appear to happen on my Meedio HTPC, just my office desktop PC and they have the same pack installed

the HDX4 MPEG-4 Codec caused this problem once at my computer,
but that codec has also this flip option ...
Anyways ... if that does't solve the problem, uninstall the codec pack and install the ffdshow codec only.

thanks for this. I had always chosen the k-lite codec pack, but once I uninstalled it and installed just the FFshow pack, all was good. And video files I previously could not edit with Windows Movie Maker can now be edited.
Thanks!
