hi there,
i've read a few problems about codecs and which ones to use etc, my problem is that i dont know which ones i have in the first place!!
i have windows xp, and have downloaded some avi movies on limewire, but when i go to play or preview them, it says that windows media player could not play the file because 'one or more codecs required to play the file could not be found.'
so i downloaded gspot 252 bo1 coz i read in one of the posts, that it will tell you what codecs you have and therefore what you need. have downloaded it but dont know how it works !?! help! what do i do next??
sorry to sound so clueless, but im really lost. all i wanna do is play the divx or avi movies that i download... anytime i down load music it plays fine but i presume thats coz its different or something.
any help would be mucho appreciated.
thanks
Gill.

You don't know how GSpot works?
And you'll see which codec you need to play the video/audio and whether the codec is missing or not.
If missing, download the appropriate one(s). If you're not sure, post here the info that GSpot gives you.
