I had a load of .avi videos, which I converted to .mpeg videos so that my DVD player will be able to play them when I put them on a CD.
To convert them, I used VideoWave, from Roxio's Easy Media Creator. This saved the files as .mpeg files. Fine. But now I find that they're using Roxio's own codec, which WMP claims is called Roxio MPEG2 Video Decoder. This plays fine on the computer that has Roxio installed, but when I play the file from another computer (over my network), it can't play the video.
Roxio don't offer the video codec for download on their site.
1. Does anyone know where I can get it?
2. Is it likely that my DVD player will be able to play a file with this codec?
3. How can I change the codec to a different one? Freeware would be nice!
Thanks
Edit: I've now found the .dll of the Roxio codec, so if anyone knows how to 'install' it on another computer, then I won't need Q1. But if the aswer to Q2 is no, then I really need Q3!
This guy's quite funny
