.VOB to avi or mpeg

I found the ripper on Versiontracker (Mac The Ripper), but how do you convert the file from .VOB to avi or mpeg??? I need to bring it into Final Cut Pro. Anyone know how to do this???

Although i don't have a MACintOSh, so I can't give you step-by-step instructions, I've read you'll probably need additional software to rip/encode.
