Hi guys... I just got this problem and wonderin if anyone of u can help.... Usually pop up of explorer happens when we open some sites and they initiate the sequence of pop up but in my computer when I start computer and without been on any site even not on net some pop up comes and ask for connection(www.instansearch.cc one of them site)... I tried many antiviruses like AVG Microsoft antispy spykiller and many more but no help.... Would anyone there be able to solve this one plz... thanks

That's probably an adware/spyware.

Download Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE 1.05 Personal from here for example.

Yes. I agree with the other person replying. It is spyware all right. I use xoftspy, downloaded from www.paretologic.com/xoftspy/. The unregistered version tells you whats in your computer, but you have to have registration code (not hard to obtain) to remove the spyware.

Too bad we aren't that kind of site.

And to get back on topic... yes it is possible that it's adware/spyware.

I used to use Spy Sweeper (trial version) and it was the greatest thing to ever get installed on my computer Too bad my trial ended after 30 days

Can you pinpoint the application or nasty is asking permission to go to these sites?
If you were running a firewall like ZA, it will let know what app is trying to ask permission.

Try going to RUN..MSCONFIG
Under STARTUP....look for any suspicious entries that don't recognize.

Also, try running HijackThis, a free browser Addon:

My suggestions:

1) You should have a firewall, any firewall, as long as it works, here are some popular ones:

2) You should scan for adware using every program available, first I would suggest an online scan at Pest Patrol: (click the scan now button)

3) Check the start up list for potential spyware like Mischabob suggests, and also running processes using x-ray my pc:

and, finally use toolbar cop to check for bad explorer plug-ins:

4) As a last resort uninstall programs that you do not need and that may have installed the spyware, like file-sharing programs (Kazza,Morpheus) and "free" games which contain tons of spyware as I found out the hard way

5) Re-install Windows only if absolutely necessary (very last resort)

Thats right. Firewall can solve all of your problems... Try Kaspersky AntiHacker... Maybe your pop-ups run from remote server?.. Just download this FireWall from kaspersky.com (and patch)...
