Problem with loading FFdshow video decoder (blocking in movies)

Hi,
I have K-lite full v 2.72 and problem lies in loading video part of FFdshow decoders; although all movies with all file extensions work, there is a significant blocking occuring, especially in darker scenes and the reason for this is that FFdshow video decoder tray icon doesnt appear when i start mplayer classic (or any kind of player for that matter), only audio FFdshow decoder and Haali media splitter start in tray. When i installed the same k-lite pack on my brothers computer, the video FFdshow decoder icon appear in tray (down on the right side of the monitor) along with audio and haali splitter and the video looks blockless and very smooth even in dark scene with every movie file.
Does anybody know what could be obstructing this; any kind of solution would be appreaciated smile.gif

Try to increase FFDShow's merit value in its configuration panel from 'default' to 'very high'.

Hi,

In which configuration panel do you mean and under which option? Cause in Configuration menu there is FFdshow menu with video, audio and Wfm panel along with other codecs from ac3 .....to xvid which are located directly under Configuration menu. There is also Help, Information, Tools, uninstall menu located next to the Configuration menu.

Start > Programs > K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > ffdshow > Video decoder configuration.
And at the bottom you see the slider "Merit: ffdshow default". Move it right.

Yes, there could be. Your using a huge codec pack...
I don't say uninstall it, your decision.
Could also try installing FFDShow separately.

AND! Have you verified the codec in the video (with GSpot or AVIcodec) and that FFDShow is set to decode it with libavcodec???

I'm wandering if you were able to solve the problem Pred?

I have the same problem right now and it seems like nothing is working. I install ffdshow separately and it still didn't work. I'm using CCCP codec pack right now.

Anybody have any ideas in fixing this problem?

Check which filters are used by Media Player Classic.

Menu -> Play -> Filters

Then disable/uninstall whatever filter is decoding the video.
