Defaults to beyond max volume,... MPclassic

If I am overlooking an obvious search issue here, by all means advise me of the proper search parameters, and I will try and find my solution that way.

I use MPclassic, and with the help of people here, carefully installed only the codecs I need, from a K-lite pack. I have no problem playing most any video. However, a problem has arisen that has me dumbfounded.
Example: I am watching a vid.(avi, mpg, wma, etc) and choose to pause the vid, or advance to another part of the vid. When I pause(or use any control), then unpause, the volume suddenly rises to max level, inspite of where Ive adjusted the vol. control. To return the volume to my desired level, all I need do is click on the vol control, and it seems to reminded of what level I chose. Even if I turn my sppeakers down, the volume goes quite high.
Also, If I choose to mute a vid, and make it play endlessly, each time the vid restarts, the it becomes un-muted.
Either Ive mis-configured MPclassic, or I have a malfunctioning codec. If anyone has heard of this, or has advice to offer, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe a problem with the audio drivers' default settings...
In Media Player Classic, go to Options/Playback/Output and then DirectShow Audio. Try to change it from System Defaults to other from the drop-down list (to WaveOut for example).

WOW! Thanks bro! That was it!
I forgot that I had changed this for some reason. Subtitles or sumthin'. Anyway, I switched it from "default", to my soundcard, now it works perfectly.
I always get quick solutions here. Thanks again! biggrin.gif
