Need help fixing or re-capturing MPEG2 files [SOLVED] Tivo-captured shows play fine but can't burn to DVD

I have many MPEG2 files that were originally created on my hacked Tivo unit as native .TY files, brought across my network using TyTool, and multiplexed into MPEG2 files. Most can be burned to DVD just fine. However, 10 or so of them appear to be "corrupt", and report errors when bringing them into my various DVD author programs (i.e. Roxio, TmpEngc, DVD Styler, DVD Wizard, etc.) which prevents me from burning them to DVD. Such errors include "audio not found".

HOWEVER, I can use WinAmp or Windows Media Player to play the corrupt MPG's just fine. So I suspect those apps must be using a different MPG2 codec than the other authoring apps I'm using.

I've tried fixing the MPG's with various conversion tools (like WinAVI), but they typically bomb out in the middle or end up creating a video file with no audio.

So the big question becomes, is there a way to capture the audio/video being output by Media Player or WinAmp without losing the 480x480 resolution and quality? I've checked all the plugin's for both players, and they only focus on audio output capture, not video.

AVICodec reports the following information which is the same across all the corrupt files:

File : 404 MB (404 MB), duration: 0:30:01, type: DSH, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 58 %
Video : 74 MB, 345 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 480*480 (1.0:1), = Mpeg2Dec, Supported
Audio : 329 MB, 1536 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x1 = MS PCM, Supported

Any other ideas would be appreciated, of course.

Please disregard this post... I had accidentally renamed my .TY files to .MPG. Once I renamed them back, I could multiplex them to valid MPG files and burn them to DVD.
