Hi all,
I've installed the Mega K-Lite Codec pack. Now I've got a movie an .avi which has .sub whish is short for sub-titles Now I wanna view the movie alongwith the sub-titles. What do I need to do in order to see it? How or what I need to configure & where. If somebody had asked before or similar threads are there then just a pointer will suffice. Thnx in advance.
On further querying came to know tht there is something called vsfilter or DirectVobSub which is installed & can be seen in K-Lite Codec Pack > Configuration > DirectVobSub as well as there is also something in K-Lite Codec Pack>Tools>VobSubStrip can either help, if yes then how, there are 2 files which can be seen 1 is an .idx file which is around 44 kb (very small) & another .sub file (around 2.5 MB) , now do they require any more processing or something like tht or what?

Come on guys tell me something sad.gif

Hi Oleg, I did tht & got the following error :-

QUOTE
Media Player Classic

To load subtitles you have change the video renderer type and reopen the fi.e
-DirectShow :VMR 7 VMR 9renderless or Haal's

-RealMedia :Special renderer for RealMedia,or open it through DirectShow
-Quicktime: DX7 or DX9 renderer for QuickTime
-ShockWave : n/a

OK

Now what & how can I fix this. Thnx for your reply

Installed it, tried it doesn't work. The player gives memory address violation errors & is jerky. Any other options

I have tried movie with sub and it works great make sure you download and Install clean copy of DirectVotSub filter sometimes codec packs do not work as they should.

Then do it. Go to Media Player Classic -> View -> Options/Output and change the DirectShow Video renderer from "System default" to "VMR 7 or VMR 9 renderless".
Reopen the videofile and open subs.

You need to give the subs the same filename as the movie file. Otherwise DirectVobSub will not be loaded automatically.

some cool movie name.avi
some cool movie name.idx
some cool movie name.sub
